About the network data

Community involvement

• Organisations can be (and should be) claimed by the people that manage them. You know your organisation the best!
• We email organisation owners and admins now and then (at most once every 6 months) with the details we hold of their organisation, to allow them to confirm everything still looks OK.
• Anyone can report a problem with a listing via the organisation's page.

Automatic checking

• Our bot visits organisation websites on a periodic basis to make sure they are still alive. Any missing or error websites will mark the organisation as "due for review" and one of our team will check. While an organisation is on review status, it won't appear in the listings.
• When our bot visits the organisation website, it will check that contact information is still correct. Any data missing from the directory is added.
• A number of entries are pulled from other data sources. We check those data sources against our listings regularly. Where an organisation is managed by someone (it's been claimed) then we notify the owner if there's a mismatch. If the organisation isn't managed, then we update it from the 3rd party data.
