Manure forks or pitchforks are not for digging. They are for moving and turning compost. Their lighter, more widely spaced tines mean they can lift more material.
Use this for:
- Turning or aerating lightly compacted and/or still decomposing compost.
- 'Shovelling' any loose material such as grass.
* If the compost is very compacted, you might be better with a gardening / digging fork
Do not use this for:
- 'Shovelling' small items such as woodchips (a shovel is better).
- Digging / aerating soil (a fork and/or spade is what you need).
