Los Angeles Tool Library is launching this month!
Sarah G. · 06 Jan 2026
We're excited to share on behalf of Los Angeles Tool Library that they are hosting an opening celebration:
📍 Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 3300 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90010
📅 Saturday, January 24th, during the day (exact time TBD)

Join them to celebrate their launch and discover how a tool library can help you build, fix, create, and connect with neighbours. Everyone is welcome, bring a friend.

You can support their launch by becoming a founding member before the opening day. Founding memberships help them reach our fundraising goal of $10,000, to expand their inventory and repair donated tools.

Good luck for the opening celebration, Los Angeles Tool Library!

Share and Repair launched their first lockers!
Share and Repair · Sarah G. · 16 Dec 2025
We have just launched the first lending lockers in the South West!

We're excited to share that the library lockers are now open, with a selection of 23 items to borrow instead of buy. The lockers are in a new location, separate from the Share and Repair Hub, offering access to the library of things to residents in a different area of Bath.

As this is a new development for us, we have soft-launched and will be making announcements on our social media in the new year.

Repair Cafe Wales' Manifesto has launched!
Sarah G. · 27 Nov 2025
Repair Café Wales and Benthyg Cymru have launched Borrow, Repair, Repeat: A Manifesto- a national call to action to make Wales the best in the world at borrowing and repair.

This manifesto sets out a vision for a Wales where sharing and repairing are part of everyday life, supported by strong national infrastructure and long-term investment.

Repair Cafe Wales and Benthyg Cymru are calling for:

- Recognition- treating borrowing and repair as essential social infrastructure for resilience, wellbeing, climate, and fairness.

- Normalisation- bold national campaigns to make sharing and mending easy, desirable, and mainstream.

- Embedding- integrating borrowing and repair into planning, procurement, and development strategies.

- Repair Cafes and Libraries of Things are already reducing emissions and saving people money. They must continue as core services.

West Philadelphia Tool Library has found a new location and the team is planning to reopen by the 1st of December!

They have over 1300 members and over 5000 tools, so it will be a big job to move, and they will appreciate any support they can get! Donations of time, money or construction materials would help them out a lot.

Bristol is opening a new site
Chris T. · 19 Nov 2025
We’re thrilled to pass on the news that Share Bristol will be opening a 4th location at Winterbourne Library in February 2026 in partnership with Frome Valley Environmental Network.

This will mean even more folk across Bristol and South Gloucestershire can borrow instead of buy — saving money, cutting down on clutter, and making a real difference for the environment.

By buying a new or renewal membership via our Crowdfunder, you'll be helping them to open the next location operating out of Winterbourne Library. Thanks to match funding from Aviva, they will receive double the amount of your payment, meaning they can fund the start up costs for Share Bristol Winterbourne.

We're now listing items from Lend Engine and myTurn sites
Chris T. · 18 Nov 2025
If you run your organisation on Lend Engine or MyTurn, we can show a preview of your items here on the directory. It also means that your items will show on the item search, which also has a map view (https://www.borrowmore.org/items/map)

We check your site once a month ... if you want to make updates you can click the button to "Update my items" which will check your site within an hour.

If you want to remove an item from the BorrowMore listings, just visit that item and click to remove it, and we won't show it again.
