Gardening & Forestry Handtool
What is it?
A saw in the shape of a bow where the blade is held under tension by the frame.
What is it used for?
Mainly used for cutting green wood, pruning branches larger than a wrist, and felling small trees and bushes.
About This Tool
The bow saw has a thin steel blade with many large sharp teeth. If possible the tool should be held with both hands to ensure the blade does not accidently come in to contact with a hand holding the work being cut.SAFETY INFORMATION & PPE
Safety glasses – Recommended
Gloves – Essential
Hard Hat – Essential (only when cutting trees or pruning above head height)
When when using this tool it is advised that no loose clothing should be worn and long hair should be tied back. Wear appropriate footwear. Never hang the saw on branches that are between waist and above head height.
