What is it?
Hand tool made from cast aluminium with a hard plastic handle and replaceable blade. Similar to a file the blade contains many teeth in diagonal rows across the blade.
What is it used for?
Rasps are suitable for use on soft materials such as softwoods, plastics, foam, fibreglass, leather, and even horses hooves. By pushing the blade across the material small shavings are removed. The rasp is particularly useful for shaping material prior to finishing.
About This Tool
This is a vintage tool and is in reasonable condition for age.There are signs of age, use and storage as some of the original surface coating is scratched and worn and there is tarnishing to metal. The handle has surface marks and scratches.
