About This Tool
This Plane comes in a custom built box to aid with transportation and to keep it safe. The No4 Smoothing Plane. This is the standard-size smoothing plane. After other planes have done the prep work, it will take the finest shavings from the most difficult woods to leave you with a finished surface. The Record No4 is easily identifiable by the plane markings and the Record blue finish. The plane is constructed from high grade cast iron with a crucible cast tungsten steel cutter and a lever cap made with high grade cast iron with a plated finish.SAFETY INFORMATION & PPE
No PPE is required to use this tool, however it does have a very sharp blade which should not be touched and it is recommended that safety boots are worn as accidentally dropping on your foot could cause serious injury.
When operating this machine it is advised that no loose clothing should be worn and long hair should be tied back. Wear appropriate footwear.
