Repair x Share Summit

Library of Stuff and Rockwood Common Tool Library will be attending the Repair x Share Summit in March!

Rockwood Common was influenced by Hull Library of Stuff's Ravage Kids Club, and started their own last year. Ravage Kids Club encourages kids to take technology apart to learn how things work, and become repairers of the future. It was a great success, so both libraries will be speaking all about this at the event!

There will be many other speakers discussing all things repair, reuse and sharing, which should be useful for lending libraries all over the world.

Repair Cafe Wales' Manifesto has launched!

Repair Caf茅 Wales and Benthyg Cymru have launched Borrow, Repair, Repeat: A Manifesto- a national call to action to make Wales the best in the world at borrowing and repair.

This manifesto sets out a vision for a Wales where sharing and repairing are part of everyday life, supported by strong national infrastructure and long-term investment.

Repair Cafe Wales and Benthyg Cymru are calling for:

- Recognition- treating borrowing and repair as essential social infrastructure for resilience, wellbeing, climate, and fairness.

- Normalisation- bold national campaigns to make sharing and mending easy, desirable, and mainstream.

- Embedding- integrating borrowing and repair into planning, procurement, and development strategies.

- Repair Cafes and Libraries of Things are already reducing emissions and saving people money. They must continue as core services.

This celebration of sharing, repairing, reusing and community will bring together local groups, makers, repairers, and changemakers for a day full of fun, creativity, and inspiration.

West Philly Tool Library is Moving!

West Philadelphia Tool Library has found a new location and the team is planning to reopen by the 1st of December!

They have over 1300 members and over 5000 tools, so it will be a big job to move, and they will appreciate any support they can get! Donations of time, money or construction materials would help them out a lot.
